If you’re going to spend months planning the perfect launch party or poring over every detail of your big festival, you want maximum vibes to justify all that hard work. That’s what event branding’s all about.
It’s also a brilliant opportunity to have some fun (despite my using the word stress earlier). It’s like letting your business brand have a day out. You don’t have to be nearly as strict as you normally would, because your focus is on the experience.

You need a specific theme to encourage your intended reaction (attendance, media attention, sales, networking or a combo of them all), so you can afford to be a bit more leftfield, without losing the essence of your brand. Like Apple adopting a different theme for their annual conferences. It creates a fresh, fun feel with graphics and neon colours that never stray far from Apple’s actual branding.
You can also go to town (budget permitting) on components that work with the theme, your audience and the event objectives. Things like:
- Event-specific name and logo
- Custom signage & posters
- Venue design
- Merch
- A dedicated event app for visitors.
Sometimes the Event brand is THE BRAND
Organising a standalone event like a sports competition/community race? Having a brand for it helps everything hang together and makes sure you stand out on the day. And you’ll still have flexibility to make little tweaks when you need to make sure every event feels distinct from previous ones, or to reflect changes to the event itself.

(Be warned, designing the brand means you must take part.)
You’re in charge
We can make this as simple or elaborate as you like/need, keeping the focus tight on your objectives, the audience(s) and stakeholders, and timing. My approach is to:
- Create a moodboard of options for the overall look and feel.
- Develop 2-3 routes, showing you a couple of examples of assets like posters or web banners. (I base this on the items that we know you’ll need.)
- Go through two rounds of feedback/amends before sign-off.
You now have a swanky brand. Hooray! You can roll this out yourself. If you’d rather I handle creating more assets, I can provide a separate quote or move to a tracked hourly rate. Whatever works for you.

I’ve written about how brand design works in more detail if you’re new to this. Just know that you don’t need to worry about a lengthy timeline – especially if the project is for a one-off event/you already have a brand.
Want to know more about bespoke branding and rolling out all those essential assets that get bums on seats/ people to the start line/ in the marquee? I can help!
